Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring injury, which comes with a recovery timeline of three-to-four weeks, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
It's possible Williams can come back quicker than expected, Schefter and Rapoport added.
The Bears ruled out Williams for Monday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but have not confirmed how much time he will miss. Head coach Ben Johnson said earlier this week that the quarterback would likely miss "some time" and classified him as week-to-week.
Williams pulled up while scrambling on a first-down play in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He appeared to be in serious pain and was carted to the locker room.
Williams isn't the only Bears quarterback that's dinged up. Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent was listed as questionable for Monday's game due to a concussion he picked up after replacing Williams. Third-stringer Case Keenum is in line to start if Bagent can't suit up.
The next four opponents for the 1-1 Bears are the Eagles, New York Jets, Green Bay Packers, and Atlanta Falcons.
