San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans departed Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals on a cart after sustaining a rib injury in the second quarter and did not return.
"We couldn't tell if it was a broken rib," coach Kyle Shanahan said postgame, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. "We couldn't tell if it was an oblique. Something we'll find out probably more tomorrow."
The 33-year-old appeared to be in significant pain after taking a hit from Cardinals safety Budda Baker.

Evans hauled in three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown before exiting. The 49ers went on to win 36-30.
The veteran wideout entered Sunday leading the 49ers with 103 receiving yards through two games. San Francisco signed Evans to a three-year deal as a free agent in the offseason.
