The Carolina Panthers and former Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller agreed to a one-year contract Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Waller came out of retirement to catch 24 passes for 283 yards and six touchdowns in nine games with the Miami Dolphins last season.
The Georgia Tech product racked up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2019-20 during his heyday with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Waller, who turns 34 in September, joins a Panthers tight end room that features Ja'Tavion Sanders and Tommy Tremble. Carolina hasn't had a tight end surpass 400 receiving yards since Greg Olsen's final year with the club in 2019.
