Oregon fired offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer, head coach Dan Lanning announced Sunday.
Mehringer was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2026 after Will Stein became Kentucky's head coach. He previously served as the Ducks' tight ends coach and co-offensive coordinator from 2022-25.
"(Mehringer) played a tremendous role in what this program has accomplished over the last several seasons," head coach Dan Lanning said in a statement. "This was a decision I felt was in the best interest of our football program, as I believe a new direction is necessary to move our offense forward."
The dismissal follows Oregon's loss to Illinois on Saturday, dropping the Ducks to a 4-3 record. Over the past three games, the team has scored just 42 points without starting quarterback Dante Moore, who's sidelined due to a concussion suffered in a Sept. 26 win over USC.
Dylan Raiola replaced Moore in the second quarter of Oregon's victory over the Trojans and played well, but the offense has struggled to find consistency since.
The Ducks rank 77th in EPA/play among 138 FBS programs, according to TruMedia. They've also posted a 41.2% offensive success rate across their last three contests, which ranks 107th in the country.
Saturday's loss likely knocks Oregon out of College Football Playoff contention after it was labeled a national title contender this summer.
