A representative for Jaylen Brown denied a report that suggested he demanded a trade from the Boston Celtics or that he issued them an ultimatum before being dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers.
"10,000% a lie," Brown's rep told ESPN's Kris Rhim.
NBC Sports' Brian Scalabrine, a former fan favorite during his time as a Celtics player, said Monday on SiriusXM radio that he believed Brown demanded a trade from the team and that he had presented Boston with "a list of demands."
"It was like, you either do this, or you trade me," the former Celtics big man said on "The Starting Lineup." Scalabrine added that Brown was apparently "rooting to get traded to Milwaukee" as Boston attempted to strike a deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

However, Brown never requested a trade to the Bucks, his representative told ESPN later Monday, adding that the former Finals MVP only asked to have input on his trade destination once negotiations over Antetokounmpo fell through.
Afterward, Scalabrine clarified that he wasn't aware of the specific demands that Brown allegedly made.
"I don't know what the ultimatum was or the demands or whatever it was," Scalabrine said. "So technically, he did not demand to be traded. It was, 'Do these things right here or else.' And one of them might have been, 'Give me the $140-million extension.'"
Brown's messy split from the Celtics after 10 seasons has also included a tepid back-and-forth with former co-star Jayson Tatum. Brown said Saturday that he had no issue with Tatum after previously suggesting on social media that the Celtics star had been dishonest in discussing how he learned of Brown being traded.
"There's no beef," Brown said. "There might be a little lamb chops and some gravy. He should stay ready at all times."
