Joe Ryan didn't do much to boost his trade value Monday night.
The Minnesota Twins ace entered the record books for all the wrong reasons during his start against the Cleveland Guardians, allowing eight runs and a record-tying six homers over four innings of work at Progressive Field.
Ryan is the 13th pitcher in baseball history to surrender six homers in a game and the 12th in the modern era (since 1901), per Baseball Almanac. He's the first AL pitcher to do so since the Rays' James Shields in 2010.
Cleveland wasted no time getting to Ryan when Brayan Rocchio and Rhys Hoskins launched back-to-back jacks in the first inning.

Rookie center fielder Petey Halpin hit the third and sixth long balls off Ryan. They were the first two home runs of the 24-year-old Halpin's big-league career.

Hoskins also tagged Ryan for a second round-tripper, and Travis Bazzana added a solo shot.
Ryan entered Monday's game having allowed 10 homers in his first 110 1/3 innings this year. His ERA spiked from 2.85 to 3.38 as a result of the Guardians' barrage.
Cleveland, meanwhile, set a franchise record for most homers through the first four innings of a game, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com.
Patrick Bailey joined the power surge by ripping the Guardians' seventh home run Monday, tying the team's record for a single home game, per Stathead. It was the most homers by Cleveland in any game, home or road, since 2004.
The Guardians won the game 13-4, recording 19 hits and 44 total bases against Ryan and five relievers. They scored at least once in every inning except the eighth, when Twins catcher Alex Jackson was on the mound.
